Working feverishly all Saturday afternoon, Papa Bear and I finished one whole corner of the front yard. This may not be a big deal to anybody else. We cleared out a triangle of masses of weeds and grass. Then the plastic went down, then the gravel. Instant serenity.
We lined the garden beds with large red rocks and top-filled with compost. Yes!!!!!
Love. my. yard.

Getting to it
The front yard has long been my nemesis. I've had negative experiences with judgmental neighbors and physical limitations but now....ONWARD!!!!!!!!!! We will fill in the sloping yard! We will reduce the lawn! We will make our front yard as friendly as the backyard!
The tallest tree is growing tall. I love the shade it offers and the vertical height.
I need to pull out the catnip patch I accidentally planted as 'peppermint.' Also, the ambiguous herb that acts more like a weed. (I wonder if the strawberry patch survived??).
Next year, there will be flowers. And beautiful plants. Must...get...there...
WE WILL PREVAIL!
